Analyze Material Availability Summary Chart

Explanation

This activity is used to analyze the worst case material availability for shop orders using a pie chart.

To populate the chart, click the magnifying glass and search either for relevant shop orders.

A pie segment represents one or several shop orders with the same material availability category. Below classification is used:

Availability Category Explanation
Reserved All material lines on the shop order are fully reserved
Available to Reserve Material line(s) remains to be reserved, but the available stock minus previous required demands is enough to cover the entire demand.
Supply Covers Demand The available stock minus previous required demands is not enough to cover the entire demand, but enough open supplies with planned receipt date before the demands already exists to cover the demand.
Need Orders Neither available stock, nor open supplies are enough to cover the demands, but given the lead time it is possible to create a new supply order today and receive it before the demand date.
Shortage Neither available stock, nor open supplies are enough to cover the demands, and if a new supply order is placed today, it cannot be received before the demand date given the lead time.

Material lines supplied from DOP order cannot be classified as Need Orders or Shortage as the supply is expected to be handled through the DOP structure.
