Add Handling Unit to Shop Order

Explanation

Use this activity to create a handling unit and connect it to a shop order. A handling unit is a device that can be handled physically and may carry/contain other handling units or items in a structure. The handling unit can be created both directly under the shop order node or on a level below an already existing handling unit creating a handling unit structure. When receiving the shop order, finished products can be attached and received to stock using the handling units connected to the shop order.

Prerequisites

At least one handling unit type must have been defined in the basic data and a shop order must exist.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, handling unit(s) will be created and connected to the shop order. If the handling unit is generated from an existing handling unit, this will be set as the parent handling unit creating a handling unit structure.

If the handling unit type has a max capacity defined for the manufactured part, this value will be set as the Qty to Attach for the handling unit.
