Enter Time Phased Safety Stock

Explanation

This activity is used to enter time phased safety stock for a period.

Prerequisites

An inventory part must be entered.

System Effects

As a result of this activity the time phased safety stock values will be taken into consideration in MS and MRP calculations and the proposed supply will be generated to meet time phased stock quantities in required periods.

Procedure

From the Inventory Part window:

1. Query for the required inventory part record.
2. Click the Planning Data tab and then click the Time Phased Safety Stock tab.
3. Enter applicable values in the From Date field, To Date field and in the Time Phased Safety Stock field.
4. Save the record.

From the Time Phased Safety Stocks window:

1. Create a new record.
2. Enter the part number for which you want to enter a time phased safety stock. Use the List of Values to select from available parts. A value appears automatically in the Part Description field.
3. Enter the from date for which the time phased safety stock quantity should be maintained.
4. Enter the to date. After this date, the time phased safety stock quantity will be released for consumption.
5. Enter the targeted safety stock quantity.
6. Save the record.
