Create New Revision of Post Maintenance Check Definition

Explanation

This activity is used to create a new revision of a post maintenance check definition. You can create a new revision of a post maintenance check definition that is in any of the valid statuses (i.e., Preliminary, Active or Obsolete).

Note: There can be several revisions defined for a post maintenance check definition, but only one revision can be active at a point in time. When activating the new revision a message will appear informing you that this will make the previous revision obsolete and you will have the option of canceling the action.

Prerequisites

To perform this activity, a post maintenance check definition must exist.

System Effects

• A new revision of the post maintenance check definition is created. The new revision is set to the Preliminary status.
• An entry is created in the post maintenance check definition journal.

Procedure

1. Open the Post Maintenance Check Definition window or the Post Maintenance Check Definition List window.
2. Search for the required post maintenance check definition.
3. Right-click and click Create New Revision of Post Maintenance Definition. The Create New Revision of Post Maintenance Definition dialog box opens.
4. In the New Revision field, enter the new revision.
5. In the Journal Text field, enter information about the new revision, e.g., why it was created.
6. In the From Old Revision area, select the check boxes that indicate the type of information you want copied to the new revision. All check boxes are selected by default but can be cleared if the indicated data is not required to be copied to the new revision. Following is a list of the check boxes that can be selected:

• Intervals for Parts - Copies assigned parts and the post maintenance intervals defined for the parts.
• Part Revisions - Copies part revisions assigned to the post maintenance check definition. To copy part revisions, the intervals for part information is required to be copied as well.
• Task Cards - Copies task cards connected to the post maintenance check definition. To copy task cards, the intervals for part and assigned part information are required to be copied as well.
• Sign Off Requirements - Copies sign off requirements defined for the post maintenance check definition. To copy sign off requirements, the intervals for part and assigned part information are required to be copied as well.
• Documents - Copies documents connected to the post maintenance check definition.

7. Click OK to create the new revision.
