Promote Multiple Levels of Structures and/or Routings

Explanation

This activity is used to promote structures, routings and/or MRO maintenance and repair data. The set of data to be promoted is determined based on the multi-level structure of the specified part that conforms to the structure type or routing type specified by the user.

The multi-level structure is derived from the Effective Date entered by the user, finding the components for the specified part for each specified structure type, and the routings for these parts and components. If you have opted to promote MRO data, then the process will seek out the repair codes and/or maintenance levels for the related routings/structures and promote them to Active status as well.

Prerequisites

The structures and/or routings must be defined.

System Effects

The structures and/or routings are promoted to the selected status.
The repair codes for the related repair code routings and/or structures are promoted to Active status.
The maintenance levels for the related maintenance level routings and/or structures are promoted to Active status.

Procedure

  1. Enter the site in the Site field, or click List to select from a list of values. Your default site is automatically suggested by the system.
  2. In Part No field, enter the part for which you want the related structure, routings or MRO data to be promoted, or click List to select from a list of values.
  3. In Effective Date enter the date to find the structure or routing revisions for promotion. The range between Phase In Date and Phase Out Date is compared to the effective date to determine which revision to process. Use the various structure and routing forms to determine the proper effective date (typically the Phase In Date of the target revision). Use the multi-level display to see the component revisions included for the effective date.
  4. In the Structure Types area check the check boxes for the types of structures you want to promote.
  5. Select the structure status to promote to in the Structure Status list.
  6. In the Routing Types area check the check boxes for the types of routings you want to promote.
  7. Select the routing status to promote to in the Routing Status list.
  8. In the MRO Data Promotions area check the check boxes for the related repair codes and/or maintenance levels you want to promote to Active status.
