Define Certificate Levels

Explanation

This activity is used to manually define certificate levels for your certificate. Each level specifies how qualified an employee can be according to the certificate. An example would be different language proficiency levels defined under a single language certificate.
Note: If you manually enter a qualification level for the certificate that has qualification template linked to it, it will break the link and changes made to the template will no longer be automatically applied to the certificate.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity, certificates have to be registered in the system.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, certificates will have their levels of proficiency defined for them.

Procedure

  1. Open the Certificates window.
  2. In the area on the left of the window, select the certificate under which you want to register new proficiency levels. You might need to expand the certificate tree in order to find the relevant certificate.
  3. On the Certificate/Certificate Levels tab, place your cursor in the Qualification Level Name field and add a new record.
  4. In the Qualification Level Name field, enter the name for the level of proficiency that is covered by the certificate.
  5. In the Level Points field, enter the number of points assigned to a level. Points can be used to determine the value of a skill based on criteria such as time needed to learn or rarity. This way a level of skill particularly valuable to a company can be given much more value than a lower level. This information is useful, e.g., to estimate a combined "value" of an employee.
  6. Save your changes.
