Connect Reporting Entity

Explanation

This activity is used to connect reporting entities of both Reporting and Adjustment reporting entity types to a node in a consolidation structure.

Procedure

To connect a reporting entity to a consolidation structure:

  1. Open Consolidation Structure window and search for the consolidation structure to which the reporting entity should be connected.
  2. Right-click on the node (or top node) to which the reporting entity should be connected and click Connect Reporting Entity to open the Connect Reporting Entity dialog box.
  3. Enter the reporting entity you want to connect to the consolidation structure in the Reporting Entity field. The List of Values can be used to select the required reporting entity. Note: Select the check box Ultimate Ownership Connection in order to connect an already connected reporting entity to the consolidation structure.
  4. Enter an ownership percentage for the connection in the Ownership field.
  5. Select a value for the Consolidation Method field.
  6. Enter the date on which the reporting entity was acquired in the Event Date field.
  7. Modify the value in the Period field if required. (Note: A period is automatically displayed when you enter a date in the Event Date field.)
  8. Enter a description of the event in the Comment field if required.
  9. Double click on the Notes check box if you want to enter notes for the connection of the reporting entity.
  10. Click OK.
