Enter FA Pre-posting
Explanation
Use this activity to enter pre-posting information and
depreciation percentage distribution for a fixed asset.
Prerequisites
Before information can be entered in the Pre-posting tab, the following must have been
completed:
- The object type must be Normal, Not Depreciable, or Expensed.
- The code part values must have been entered. This is done in
Code Part
Values
in
IFS/Accounting Rules.
- The posting control information must have been entered in
Posting Control in
IFS/Accounting Rules.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, the pre-posting information can be used when transactions
are created by the system.

Procedure
Use the following procedure to enter information in the Pre-posting tab:
- Select the Pre-Posting tab. Default values are displayed for the account and the code
part that is used for the object.
- Enter information for other code parts, if appropriate.
- If you want to distribute the depreciation, enter a depreciation
distribution ID with a valid from date.
- Enter combination of code part values and percentages based on which the
depreciation should be distributed. The total value of the percentages
entered must always equal to 100%. Note: In order to generate
postings make sure that you have set up pre-posting in Posting
Control for FAP5 posting for the code parts used in depreciation
distribution.
- Save when finished.
