Create Depreciation Plan
Explanation
This activity is used to create a depreciation plan. A depreciation plan
includes forecasted depreciation calculated for a selected time period.
Depreciation plans are used to generate depreciation plan reports.
Prerequisites
- Fixed asset objects of the status Active,
Planned
or Investment must exist.
- For an object to be included in a depreciation
plan, it must have at least one book connected to it.
System Effects
A depreciation plan will be created which will be
available for generating depreciation plan reports.

Procedure
- Open the
Depreciation Plan window or
the
Depreciation Plans window.
- Right-click in the background and click Create
Depreciation Plan.
- Enter a value in the Book ID field to
specify the book to which the depreciation plan is connected.
- Select the Simulate Postings check box if you want posting
control instructions for FAP5 and FAP6 posting types to be
simulated for the depreciation plan.
- Enter a description for the depreciation plan in
the Plan Depreciation field if required.
- Specify the time period for which the depreciation plan should be
created by selecting the relevant accounting years and periods for the
From and Until fields opposite the Calendar label.
- Specify whether you want the objects to be
included in the plan to be selected based on the object or object group by
selecting either Object or Object Group.
- If the object selection is based on the object,
specify a range of objects to be included in the plan by entering
appropriate values in the From and Until fields opposite the
Object option.
- If the object selection is based on the object
group, specify a range of object groups to be included in the depreciation
plan by entering appropriate values in the From and Until fields
opposite the Object Group option.
- Select the Include Objects in Planned and
Investment Status check box if you want the depreciation plan to include
objects of which the status is either Planned or Investment.
- Select the Run in Background check box if
you want the creation of the depreciation plan to be carried out as a
background job.
