Raise QA Inspection

Explanation

This activity is used to determine the QA (quality assurance) activities that may be required by a maintenance organization to ensure that an asset can be certified as conforming with its release to service certification requirements. The QA activities are often not directly associated with the performance of maintenance against an asset, but are rather focused on ensuring that the organization conforms to standard QA practices and proceeds. This activity is often a supplementary to standard inspection requirements included in maintenance procedures or manuals.

Raising QA inspections is a manual process. Qualifying the requirements will depend on the QA regime in existence at the maintenance organization and the specific requirements between the service provider and the operator of the asset.

Procedure

This is a manual process which can consist of the following steps:

  1. Evaluate all requirements (manual step).
  2. Register the requirements to fulfill the need, either by raising additional maintenance activities and adding these to the maintenance visit of the asset or execution as unique QA activities and recorded as such without direct reference to the asset.
