Update Connected Objects
Explanation
Use this activity to update business opportunity- or sales quotation lines if
the estimate process is started from either a business opportunity or a sales
quotation. When an estimate is created based on existing business opportunity-
or sales quotation lines then are the deliverable lines established at creation
of the estimate, with a pegging to the corresponding opportunity- or quotation
lines. This means that the connection is already there before the estimate
process has even started, it is just a matter of updating the pegged lines when
the default version is Confirmed.
If new top items are added to an estimate it has the following impact;
- If the estimate is created on the base of existing business opportunity
lines then are these also included by a succeeding Update, i.e. new records
are established for the same Business Opportunity ID and
Revision which contains the business opportunity lines
original used for creation of the estimate.
- If the estimate instead is created on the base of existing sales
quotation lines then are either new records established for the same
Quotation No or else is a new Sales Quotation
established. A new Sales Quotation is established if the
site diverse for the new deliverable line compared with the original.
Cost- and price values are updated for the lines with a connection since
previous. For top items added after creation of the estimate new opportunity- or
quotation lines are established based on the Confirmed
calculation.
Note: If the part number/item name is changed for a top item
which has a pegging to a business opportunity line then the connection remains.
There is no prerequisite to keep the part number/item name in sync with sales
part no and/or description defined for the business opportunity- or sales
quotation lines. This isn’t any condition since a sales part number can be
different from the inventory part number.
Prerequisites
- The estimate must be created based on existing business
opportunity- or sales quotation lines
- Update is enabled if the version is set as included for the customer and
if it is Confirmed.
- It is also a condition that possible pegged business opportunity- or
sales quotation lines aren’t process to a status which prevents an updated;

As a result of this activity are;
- Cost- and price values updated for a business opportunity- or a sales
quotation line with a
pegging to a corresponding deliverable.
- Items added after creation of the estimate are established as new;
business opportunity lines, sales quotation lines or sales quotation.

Procedure
- Open the Estimate window.
- Query for the estimate id created by using the New Estimate
Assistant from a selection of existing business opportunity-
or sales quotation lines, or populate the window and click the requested
number in the Estimate ID list.
- Click the Deliverables tab.
- Use the drop-down if more than one customer is connected to the estimate
to select the one related to the Business Opportunity
or Sales Quotation which contains the lines with
pegging to the deliverable lines for the version Included.
- In the upper table right-click on the record representing the include
version for the customer, select Update Connected Objects.
- Cost- and price values are updated for the business opportunity- or sales
quotation lines.
