Inactivate Estimate Items

Explanation

Use this activity to omit items form the work scope by inactivating the item. When processing with the activity, work with the item has been aborted. Inactive items are omitted from the calculation. You can set an item to inactive at any time via right mouse button option as long as it is not in Confirmed status for any version. All inactive items are omitted from the calculation and no part data are created in the transfer process. There are no obstacles that prevent from performing updates of the item. However all updates/changes done are not taken into consideration until the item is set to Active again. An inactive item is possible to set it back to Active as long as the item isn’t Confirmed.

All item headers created are default set to Active. Can manually set a record to Inactive via right-click option, from either the tree structure or the item header. When executing this option, all items at lower levels in the branch will be set to Inactive.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that;

• An estimate header exists with at least one version and one top item
• The status of the estimate cannot be Closed or Cancelled
• The status of the item to inactivate cannot be Confirmed for any version

System Effects

As a result of this activity, an item record is omitted from the work scope and the cost calculation.

Procedure

1. Open the Estimate window.
2. Search for the Estimate ID which contains the item to Inactivate, or populate the window and click the requested number in the Estimate ID list.
3. Click the Item tab.
4. In the tree structure select the item to inactivate. Put the cursor in the item header and right click, select the option Branch/Inactivate.

Note: Inactivate of an item record can also be execute by right clicking from the item in the tree structure, select the same option as available from the item header.
