Define Estimate Classification

Explanation

This activity is used to define and maintain basic data for estimate classification. Classifications are used for systematic division of estimates. This could for instance be useful when the end usage of the estimate is completely different or when the effort and time needed to prepare the estimate cannot be considered to be equal.

As a result of this activity, an estimate classification is defined in the system and can be used as it is in the division of estimate headers.

Procedure

1. Open the Estimate Classification window.
2. Create a new record.
3. Enter the classification code. Possible to use a maximum of 30 alphanumeric characters. Note that the ID cannot be changed after saving the record.
4. Enter a classification description with a maximum of 200 characters.
5. If needed can add notes and comments for internal reference only. A note can be used as a means of forwarding information to someone who will process the object later.
6. Save the record.
