Create Business Opportunity from Estimate
Explanation
Use this activity to create a new business opportunity or opportunity
lines on an existing opportunity, for a customer and the selection of
deliverable lines related to versions included. The business opportunity is
an object that can retrieve the result of the estimate process. From the
opportunity it is possible to proceed in the process of quoting the customers connected to
the estimate. A pegging is established between the deliverable lines once
corresponding opportunity lines are created.
Prerequisites
This activity requires that;
- An estimate header with at least one version and one top item exists.
- The status of the estimate cannot be Closed or
Cancelled
- The status of the version must be Confirmed
- A customer must be connected to the estimate
- A version must be Included in the Deliverables
tab for the customer
System Effects
As a result of this activity, a new business opportunity and/or opportunity
lines are created based on the deliverable lines related to the version(s)
included for the customer in focus.

Procedure
- Open the Estimate window.
- Query for the estimate id for which contains the version include for the
customer in focus, or populate the window and click the requested number in
the Estimate ID list.
- Click the Deliverables tab.
- Use the drop-down if more than one customer is connected to the estimate
to select the accurate one.
- In the upper table right-click on the record representing the include
version for the customer, select Create Business
Opportunity.
- The Create Business Opportunity dialog is opened.
- Optional to enter; Main Contact, Main Representative. Select a business
type, New or Reoccurring.
