Change Cost Set

Explanation

Use this activity to change cost set for a top item and version. This dialog box can be used when it is necessary to change cost set for an existing version or when a new version is created. New versions are based on the latest version id in the sequence.

If a part cost calculation for a specific cost set is applied when copy structure is the corresponding part cost calculation for the new cost set directly retrieved and applied. When you change the cost set, i.e. both material- and possible operation costs are updated. If no part cost, costs calculation is applied and possible operation costs are recalculated based on the new work center costs and labor rates related to the new cost set and the required date set for the item. Material costs are not influenced by the cost set. It is just the required date that determines the material unit cost.

Procedure

  1. Open the Estimate window.
  2. Search for the Estimate ID containing the version and top item that requires a change of cost set, or populate the window and click the requested number in the Estimate ID list.
  3. Click the Estimate/Product tab.
  4. In the header of the Product tab right-click, select Change Cost Set.
  5. In the Change Cost Set dialog box, enter cost set id or use the list of value to retrieve one. Press the OK button.
  6. Notice that the Cost Set field in the Details tab is updated and that the relevant costs are now based on the new cost set.
