An isolation order is to be used when a certain area in the facility needs to be secured (or isolated) so that maintenance work can be executed under safe conditions. Isolation orders are connected to a work order through a permit.
An isolation order is classified using an isolation type. Isolation types are used to establish a connection with the permit types so that isolation orders can be connected to a permit at a later stage. You can also specify the maximum number of connections that should exist between an isolation type and a permit type. Generally you would connect a single isolation order of one or more isolation types to a permit. However, there can be instances where several isolation orders of the same isolation type is required to be connected to a permit. This is where the number of connections comes in to play. The default number of connections between the two types is 1, and is assigned by the system when you link the two types. You can change this value according to your requirement. For example; if the number of connections between permit type PT1 and isolation type IsoT1 is 3, a permit of type PT1 can have three isolation orders of type IsoT1.
An isolation order contains information on how to establish and re-establish an equipment object or linear asset. The establishment instructions describe how and in what sequence the equipment objects or linear assets should be shut down so that the maintenance work on the connected work order can be carried out safely. The re-establishment instructions on the other hand describes how and in what sequence the equipment objects or linear assets should be switched back on so that the facility can move back in to production. Both sets of instructions contain information related to the equipments or linear assets involved, and the position they should be in (e.g. ON, OFF, LOW SPEED etc). Note: You can create an isolation order based on an Isolation (that includes pre-defined information needed for an isolation order).
The isolation order contains the following statuses.
An established isolation order is simply an isolation order where the establishment instructions have been completed. An isolation order should be established in order to release a permit.
Isolation orders are used in IFS/Enterprise Asset Management and IFS/Service Management.
