Define Safe Access for Object
Explanation
Use this activity to set the value for safe access on a
functional or serial object. Safe Access allows to define if maintenance can be
performed while equipment is in use. If safe access is set to required,
maintenance cannot be performed while equipment is in use and vice verca. If
safe access is set to required, PM actions will be scheduled around the
currently scheduled operational plan.
Prerequisites
System Effects
- As a result of this activity, the system can derive a value for a
task/operation on a work order/PM Action occurrence planned on these objects
is to be scheduling obstructive or not.
- If IFS/Maintenance Planning Board and IFS/Operational plans are used,
scheduling obstructive operations are not possible to schedule during
the period where the object is in operation, when scheduling inside
maintenance planning board.

- Open the Functional Object or the
Serial Object window, click the
General tab.
- In the Safe Access field, use the drop-down to
select is safe access should be either Required or Not Required.
