Procedure
- Open the Functional
Object or the
Serial Object window and click the
General
tab.
- Enter appropriate values in the relevant fields. All fields on the
Functional Object/General
tab are optional and all fields except the Part No and Serial No
fields in Serial
Object/General tab are optional. (If you are entering general information
for a serial object in the
Serial Object window,
you must have entered the part number and serial number when you created the
object, so values in those fields already should be displayed.) Use the List
of Values to select appropriate values.
- Select a Location ID from list of values. The location holds the
address and contact information.
- Select the Geographical Object check box if the functional object
is to operate as a geographical object (location).
Note: You cannot manually select or deselect the check boxes in the
Functional Object Has, Serial Object Has, and Type Designation Has area.
These check boxes are automatically selected by the system when appropriate information
has been entered. Also, in the
Serial Object/General
tab, you cannot enter or change the value in the Current Position field because
that information is automatically maintained and displayed by the system as well.
- Save the information (F12).
