Create Object Connection
Explanation
Use this activity to create a connection between two equipment objects
that are placed in two completely independent parallel structures. Retrieve the first object to be connected, then enter the other object
and a connection type.
Prerequisites
- The equipment object must have been entered in
IFS/Equipment.
- A connection type must have been entered in
Equipment Basic Data.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, a connection between two equipment objects is created.

Procedure
- Open the Functional Object or
Serial Object windows. Create a new object (F5) or query for an
existing one (F3).
- Right-click and click Connected Objects. The
Connected Objects window
opens. The upper part of the window displays information on the first
object.
- Create a new record in the table (F5). The user's default site is displayed in the
Connected Site field. Use the List of Values to select another site
that the user is connected to if appropriate.
- In the Connected Object ID field, select the object to be connected. Use
the List of Values to to select a suitable value.
- In the Connection Type field, select a suitable connection type for the objects.
- Save the information (F12).
