Connect Part to Detached Spare Part List

Explanation

Use this activity to connect a part to a detached spare part list. The part to be connected is either an inventory or non-inventory purchase part.  

Prerequisites

• The part in the header of the detached spare part list and the part to be connected must have been entered in IFS/Purchasing.
• Inventory parts must be entered in IFS/Inventory.

System Effects

• The part is connected to a detached spare part list. 
• The list is then connected to equipment objects. The part in the list can be replaced by another part.

Procedure

To connect an inventory purchase part.

1. Open the Detached Spare Part List window and query (F3) for the part which was defined as the detached spare part header.
2. Create a new record in the lower part of the window (F5).
3. In the Component Part No field, use the List of Values to select a suitable spare part. 
4. In the Quantity field, enter the desired quantity of the part. 
5. Save the information (F12).

To connect a non-inventory purchase part.

1. Open the Detached Spare Part List window and query (F3) for the part which was defined as the detached spare part header.
2. Create a new record in the lower part of the window (F5).
3. Select the row, right-click and click LOV from Purchase Part.
4. Select the row of the spare part to be connected and double-click on it.
5. In the Quantity field, enter the desired quantity of the part. 
6. Save the information (F12).
