Define Usage Emissions

Explanation

Use this activity to set the amounts of usage emitted by substances per lifetime unit of measure (UOM) and per part. You can also define additional emissions and the frequency of the additional emission during the use phase of the part.

Prerequisites

• Emission substance codes must have been defined.

System Effects

• The usage emission per unit and per lifetime unit of measure will be defined for the part.
• The additional emission per unit and the frequency of the additional emission will be defined for the part.
• When the emission is calculated for a manufactured part, the system adds the usage specific emission to the total part emission.

Procedure

To enter the usage emissions in the Part Eco-footprint/Usage/Usage Emissions window, follow these steps:

1. Open the Part Eco-footprint window and populate or query for the part no.
2. Click the Usage Emissions tab.
3. Create a new record.
4. Enter the substance number or click List to select one from the List of Values.
5. The default media code will be displayed. It is possible to modify this value.
6. Enter an appropriate value in the Unit Emission per Lifetime UoM field.
7. Save the record.

 To enter the additional emissions in the Part Eco-footprint/Usage/Additional Emissions window, follow these steps:

1. Open the Part Eco-footprint window and populate or query for the part no.
2. Click the Additional Emissions tab.
3. Create a new record.
4. Enter the substance number or select from the list of values.
5. The default media code will be displayed. It is possible to modify this value.
6. Enter suitable values in the Emission per Unit field.
7. Save the record.
