Configuration Conformance Check
Explanation
This activity is used to verify that the assembled
structure is in conformance with the defined configuration rules (in Fleet and
Asset Management) and that all requirements given in the work scope have
been fulfilled.
You must sign off or cancel all finished events prior to performing this
activity. Refer

to complete this. Once this is done, you can perform a configuration conformance
check to ensure that the approved work scope is completed and that it includes all
changes implemented as per the given configuration rules.
The checks carried out when performing a final
configuration conformance check is similar to the checks carried out on a serial
structure when it is set to the Operational condition. In addition to these
checks, the status of the LLP (Life Limited Part) and performed modifications
are checked according to the configuration rules in Fleet and Asset Management as well as the approved
work scope.
Any deviations found are recorded in the final
conformance log as warnings. These deviations/warnings must be approved by the
relevant authority, i.e., the engineer, before the overhauled object can be made
operational. Once all deviations/warnings have been approved (or if no
deviations/warnings exist for the serial structure), the operational condition
of the overhauled object is set to Operational. At this instance, the associated
work order is automatically set to the Work Done status.
Following is a list of valid error categories used in
the final configuration conformance check:
- Alternates Violation - one or more invalid alternate parts
are installed. (Error 1)
- Structure is not complete - it does not match the
template structure. (Error 2)
- Structure is not complete - the serial number is
missing for an installed part (Error 3)
- Dependency Rules not fulfilled - invalid parts
installed due to the dependency rules. (Error 4)
- Calculated remaining life for installed part is less
than its minimum release life in work scope (Error 5)
- Calculated remaining life for the installed part is
less than its minimum release life in baseline defaults (Error 5)
- Modification compliance not recorded in the history. (Error 6)
- Modification de-compliance not recorded in the history. (Error 7)
- Modification compliance not recorded in the affected part history. (Error 8)
- Modification de-compliance not recorded in the affected part history. (Error 9)
- Missing on exposure modifications. (Error 10)
- Missing on repair modifications. (Error 11)
- Missing on scrap modifications. (Error 12)
- Invalid structure status. (Error 13)
- Structure mismatches exist. (Error 14)
- Serial does not exist in Fleet and Asset Management. (Error 15)
- The number of repairs exceed the maximum number of repairs allowed
on the serial. (Error 16)
- The life of the serial has expired. (Error 16)
- Life limits are not defined for the operational parameters on the
serial. (Error 16)
- Overdue mandatory modifications exist. (Error 17)
All generated warnings must have been completed either
by directly correcting the error(s) in the serial structure or by approving the
warning record. Note: Corrections on the overhauled object may result in
additional structure changes. The final configuration conformance check can be
performed several times. It can also be performed as a batch job.
Prerequisites
- The top assembly shop order must have been finished and the overhaul object be in Inventory.
- The structure cannot be checked before the whole object is
assembled.
The following prerequisite is required when removing
preliminary conformance log entries and creating the on-log structure:
- Once the assembly process is completed, the right
mouse button option Run Final Conformance Check must have been
selected.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- The final conformance log will contain warnings for
the following;
- All serials in the structure
that do not fulfill the configuration requirements specified in the template
- All LLP serials in the structure that do not fulfill the minimum
release life requirements
- All modifications for serials in the structure that were defined by
the approved work scope but were not executed
- If this activity was performed after one or more
structure corrections, the corresponding approval records will be retained
if the warning still applies, or removed if it is no longer relevant.
- Once all warnings are approved, the serial
structure's operational condition is set to Operational. This can be viewed
in the Part Serial window.
- The status of the associated work order is set to
Work Done.
- Once the MRO work order receives the Work Done
status, all preliminary log entries generated for the structure will be
removed automatically.
- The actual on-log is created [or updated]. This
can be viewed in the
Structure Snapshot from Visits/On Log
tab.
- The cost of overhaul can be accumulated and
invoicing can be done.
- The overhauled object can be returned in an
operational status to the customer.
- The approved list of warnings can be printed and
given to the customer along with the overhauled object.

Procedure
- Open the Define Work Scope
window and query (F3) for your work order.
- Click the Final Conformance Log tab.
- Right-click on the table of the window, and then
click Run Final Conformance Check. The
Conformance Check Run
Options dialog box opens.
- If needed, select the Run in Background
check box.
- Observe the warnings that are generated in the tab
window.
- To approve a warning, select the relevant warning
record, right-click, and then click Approve Warning.
- You need to manually perform corrections for the
warning(s) that cannot be approved.
Optional Procedure:
- Select the Run Final Conformance Check option
once again.
- If needed, you can remove an approval. Select the
relevant approval record, right-click, and then click Remove Approval.
