Release MRO Interim Order Structure

Explanation

Use this activity to release a MRO interim order structure, thereby creating and scheduling the corresponding supply shop orders. The start and finish dates assigned by the scheduling process to the supply shop orders does not impact the dates of the corresponding interim orders.

It is possible to manually include components in the work scope of a shop visit from the Disposition Summary window. This makes it possible to expand the work scope when the available maintenance levels do not sufficiently cover the maintenance requirements. When a component is included the work scope can be released. If it is set to be released, then it is an option to release the MRO Interim Order Structure as a part of this action.

Prerequisites

The interim header must be in Created or Partially Created state.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

  1. Supply shop orders in state Planned are created for the interim orders that are released. These shop orders are scheduled by the shop order loader or by CBS.
  2. An expected log and an off log are created in VIM. The expected log holds the parts and serials that are expected from disassembly based on the VIM serial structure. The off log is initially identical to the expected log but is updated during disassembly with the actual parts received.

Procedure

MRO Interim Order Structure window

  1. From the Interim Header ID list, select the interim order structure to release.
  2. Verify that the state of the interim header is Created or Partially Created.
  3. Right-click and then click Release to release the entire selected interim header. This will create MRO shop orders for all types of interim orders in the order structure (i.e., disassembly, disposition, and assembly orders). If the state of the interim header is Partially Created, which means that some interim orders in the order structure have already been released, then releasing the entire interim order structure releases the remaining interim orders.
