Create and Maintain Modification Baseline
Explanation
Use this activity to define all the modifications the customer wants performed
by default, for every visit of serials with the given part number. All the
required modifications will be automatically set as they are included in the baseline. If new
required modifications are defined for the
part after the baseline is defined, these modifications will be automatically included in the baseline for all
the customers.
Recommended and optional modifications will not be automatically included and must be
manually
set for the customers. This should be revised before every visit. If required modifications are changed to
optional, these modifications will not be automatically removed from the baseline.
Prerequisites
- The customer must have been defined in the
Customer
window.
- Modifications must have been defined for the part
and the modification revision must be set to Active.
- The template structure of the part must be set to
Active.
System Effects
- When you define a baseline for a new
part, for an existing customer or new customer, all the existing
modifications for the part must be considered. This is done when you right-click and then click on the Import or Copy Baseline option. If a
customer is entered in this dialog box, the baseline definition for the part
will be copied from
the given customer, if no customer is entered the baseline will be defined
from the current definitions in the modification definitions.
- All the modifications in the baseline will be used as the default work
scope for all the serials of the part in their next visit.
- The modification baseline should be controlled
before every visit to ensure that all relevant modification revisions are
correctly defined for the part and the customer.
