This fact supports Reporting Date, i.e. a time dimension that can be used to when doing cross product/module reporting. The date chosen to connect the fact with the dimension is the start date of the accounting period for a balance. This date is also used when finding the currency rate for calculation of reporting currency amounts.
In the load step, the flow is divided into two different target tables. The splitting is dependent on tras Code Type. Transactions of type 'CONSOLIDATED_BALANCE','CURR_EFFECT_OPENING','CURR_EFFECT_DURING_YEAR','CURR_EFFECT_COUNTER_POST' are sent to table Dm_FACT_CONSOL_BALANCE and the rest are sent into Dm_FACT_CONSOL_BALANCE_DETAIL. The reason for this is to support rollup of amounts to higher levels in the consolidation structures.
