This process consists of finishing a set of requirements needed to release an engineering part revision. These requirements are:
| Requirements | Description |
| Approve manufacturer | if a manufacturer is defined the manufacturer must be approved |
| Fulfill document requirements | if the part has document requirements, documents of each of the required document class must be (developed and) connected to the part. |
| Release documents in survey | the documents connected to the part must be released |
| Check/calculate characteristics | check characteristics and calculate attribute rollup to verify the values |
| Approve characteristics | approve the characteristics attributes and the values |
| Activate product structure | activate the part. To activate a product structure, all parts below in the structure must be activated first. |
When all this requirements are fulfilled you are allowed to release the engineering part revision. If some of these items are not in use by the engineering part revision you can exclude the items.
