Define Message Media

Explanation

Use this activity to enter a message media code when using a third-party tool (like Amtrix) to collect messages to send.

The Setup Connectivity/Message Media tab contains information about the media used to transmit the messages. If the attribute MediaCode is used in the out-message, the message media code must be entered in the mentioned window.

The Setup Connectivity/Message Media tab is not used by IFS/Connectivity at present time. The window displays currently supported message media.

• MHS is the Message Handling System. This is used when IFS sites exist in the same database.
• EDI is the Electronic Data Interchange. This is used when connected IFS Sites exist on different servers.

Note: This window is read only when accessed as end user.

Prerequisites

• A third-party tool using the attribute MediaCode in the out-message must be used for collecting messages to send.

System Effects

A message media code for a third-party tool, using the attribute MediaCode in the out-message, might have been entered.

Procedure

1. Open the Setup Connectivity window.
2. In the Message Media tab, create a new record.
3. Enter a media code and a description.
4. Save your entry.
