Define Object Properties

Explanation

Use this activity to enter validation methods for logical units and objects keys, or to view the logical unit name, object key name, and property values for all objects of installed components.

This may be useful, for example, when you want to view the object properties of different address types for customers and suppliers. Different address types are preinstalled when a new company is entered. When an object has the same properties for more than one object key, it is assigned a property value of GROUPS.

Each object property value can be validated so you can get specific information on a given parameter. You can, for instance, find out which parameter creates errors that prevent a background job to be executed. The validation functionality can be used for all components once the package name and method have been entered. Note that the validation methods in each component must trigger an error. The object property, by contrast, merely ensures that the validation method is executed for new or changed entries.
