Define Mobile Object Synchronization Data

Explanation

This activity is used to define the objects that should be synchronized with the mobile device.

With IFS Mobile Work Order, not all objects are transferred from a site to the mobile user. Therefore, it is necessary to define which objects should be transferred during synchronization, based on the criteria selected.

Procedure

To connect objects to a mobile user:

  1. Open the Mobile Object Synchronization Data window.
  2. Click the Objects/User tab.
  3. Create a new record (F5).
  4. In the User ID field, enter the mobile user id. Use the List of Values to select a valid value or left it blank to select all users.
  5. In the Object Site field, enter the site to which the object belongs to. Use the List of Values to select a valid value.
  6. In the Object ID field, enter the ID of the object which is to be connected to the mobile user. Use the List of Values to select a valid value or left it blank to select all objects belonging to the site.
  7. Select the Include Structure check box if all objects included in the structure of the selected object are to be synchronized with the mobile device.
  8. Save the record (F12).

To connect objects to a maintenance organization:

  1. Open the Mobile Object Synchronization Data window.
  2. Click the Objects/Organization tab.
  3. Create a new record (F5).
  4. In the Maint Org Site field, enter the site to which the maintenance organization belongs. Use the List of Values to select a valid value.
  5. In the Maintenance Organization field, enter the maintenance organization to which the object is to be connected. Use the List of Values to select a valid value or left it blank to select all maintenance organizations belonging to the site.
  6. In the Object ID field, enter the ID of the object which is to be connected to the maintenance organization. Use the List of Values to select a valid value or left it blank to select all objects belonging to the site.
  7. Select the Include Structure check box if all objects included in the structure of the selected object are to be synchronized with the mobile device.
  8. Save the record (F12).

To view a summary of all objects connected to a mobile user:

  1. Open the Mobile Object Synchronization Data window.
  2. Click the All Objects/User tab.
  3. Populate (F2) or query (F3) for the required mobile user.
  4. Observe the objects for the user.

Please note - any changes in Objects/User and/or Objects/Organization don't immediatelly affect data displayed in All Objects/User tab. The information are updated by scheduled task 'Refresh Mobile Sync Objects'.
