Use Difference Template

Explanation

Use this activity to specify that a difference template should be used as the update source during the Update Company process.

The difference template (created in the Generate Difference Template dialog box as a part of the configuration for Update Company) shows all differences between the company to be updated and the source company or source template. The dialog box can also be used to specify exactly which elements of the basic data differences should be included in the company update. When you perform this activity, a new source is defined for the Update Company process, i.e., a difference template is defined instead of the original source company or source template.

Prerequisites

A difference template must have been created using the Generate Difference Template dialog box.

System Effects

The difference template will be defined as the new source of the update in the Update Company dialog box, and it will be used unless the configuration for the Update Company process is modified.

Procedure

1. After you generate the difference template from the Generate Difference Template dialog box, examine the template differences. . 
2. If necessary, use the detail section to specify, for each Logical Unit, the basic data that should be active during the update. This is done by clicking in the Selected column, i.e., all selected lines will be be part of the update which is performed per Logical Unit.
3. Click Use Diff Template to return to the Update Company dialog box, where the difference template will be designated as the new source for the update.
