Copy Installation Translation for Company Template Translation

Explanation

Use this activity to copy the installation translation to the current translation for translations related to a Company Template.

During fresh installation or upgrade each component will define Company Template translations in one or several languages. If the translation does not exist then a new translation will be defined with the installation translation equal to the current translation. If the translation already exists then the following will happen:

• If the current translation is equal to the installation translation then the new translation, for a specific attribute key, will update both the current translation and the installation translation.
• If the current translation is NOT equal to the installation translation then the new translation will only update the installation translation.

This means that if the end-user has modified an installed translation, or added a new one manually, then this translation will never be modified during the installation/upgrade phase.

If it is required to set the current translation to the installation translation then a RMB choice can be used to copy the Installation translation to the Current translation according to the following in the Template Attribute Translation form:

• For one or more selected rows in the detail part.
• For all translations related to the master part, i.e. to Template Id, Module and Logical Unit.

. The copy will for each translation only take place if the following applies:

• The installation translation must differ from the current translation.
• The installation translation must have a value.

All modified translations will be marked as System Defined.

Prerequisites

Company Template Translations must be available.

System Effects

The Company Template translations will be modified, having effect mainly when a Company has been created with the modified template as source.

Procedure

1. Open the Template Attribute Translations window, found in Enterprise/Company/Company Templates. It can also be opened using right-mouse button options in the Company Template windows.
2. Select the template, module/component and Logical Unit to be modified.
3. In the master window, use the right mouse button option to copy the installation translation to the current translation for attributes keys related to the selected template, module and Logical Unit or select one or more translation lines in the detail window and then use the right mouse button option .
