Explanation

Use this activity to get an overview as well as a detailed view of existing external file types.

Prerequisites

External file types must have been defined.

Procedure

1. Open the External File Types window.
2. Click F2 to populate the window or F3 to query for specific external file types.
3. Use the window to get some basic information for the selected external file types.
4. In order to see file type details, mark one or many lines, right-click and then click Details to launch the External File Type window that shows all detail definitions for the selected file types.
