Define Business Object
Explanation
This activity is used to define business objects for
specific business object types. This allows you to attach a business object to a case when entering details
about a case, and when creating a handover reference for case tasks connected to
a case.

connect the defined business object to a case, a business object queue,
or use it as a handover reference.

Procedure
- Open the Support Organization Basic Data window and click the
Business
Object tab.
- Create a new record. (F5)
- In the Business Object and Description fields enter the name
and description of the business
object respectively.
- Select a suitable value for the Business Object Type
field.
- To specify a business object as default, select the Default Value
check box. Alternately, once the record is saved, you can select a business
object, right-click and then click Set/Unset Default to set the selected
business object as default; thereby discarding any other default setting.
- Optionally, you can enter values in the following fields:
- In the Attach LOV Order field, specify the order in which you want
the business objects to appear when connecting it to a case.
Not
applicable for the following business object types: Return Material
Authorization and Invoice.
- In the Handover LOV Order field, specify the order in which you
want the business object to appear when it is used to create a handover
reference from a support case task.
Only
applicable for the following business object types: Work Order, Customer
Order, Return Material Authorization, Project
Activity, Shop Order, Purchase Order and Change Request.
- Select the Open Form check box to enable the
user to continue work with the business object directly after it is created.
Only
applicable for the following business object types: Work Order, Customer
Order, Return Material Authorization, Project
Activity, Shop Order, Purchase Order and Change Request.
- In the View Tab Order field, specify the
order in which you want to view the tabs in the
Case/Customer Info
tab. Only applicable for tabs related to the following business object
types: Sales Part, Customer Agreement, Customer Order, Equipment Object,
Work Order, Project Activity and Invoice.
- Save the record. (F12)
