Retrieve Item Cost from Project

Explanation

This activity is used to retrieve the cost estimates directly from the connected activities of the associated contract line item. The cost will be retrieved from the connected activities.

For companies using IFS/Project for planning there is, in some cases, a need to do detailed cost estimating and planning within the project and use that as a basis for setting up the contract. In situations where the estimates are done on the project activity level you can easily retrieve the amounts over to the contract line items as the contract value.

Each contract item can have activities connected, and an activity can only be connected to one contract item. The contract item value is then set by summarizing estimated, planned or baseline cost from activities associated with the selected sales contract line.

As a result of this activity the Cost Value column on the sales contract line item is updated with the cost from the connected activities.

Procedure

To add project activities from the Sales Contract/Items/Lines/Items tab follow these steps

  1. Select the line item to which you want to update the cost.
  2. Right-click and click Retrieve Item Cost from Project.
  3. Observe the Retrieve Item Cost from Project dialog box appearing.
  4. Select one of the cost retrieval options Estimated, Planned or Baseline.
  5. Click OK to retrieve the cost to the item.
