This activity is used to release a repair line to a repair shop order or a disposition shop order. The repair order type determines the kind of environment the service should be processed in.
The preferred repair order type is selected from the Repair Order Type field on the component repair order line. Based on the repair order type you select, the relevant option will be selected in the Process Repair dialog box.
Depending on the selected repair order type on the component repair order line, a repair shop order or a disposition shop order is created. The repair part is displayed in the header, and a corresponding line is created in the Materials tab together with other components if a repair structure exists. The shop order acquires Reserved status and the repair part will be reserved to the material line. Now the actual repair/service can be performed.
You can create one or several disposition lines for processing the service of the parts. When the disposition shop order is created, the application creates the material requirements for the disposition items and schedules the operations. There may also be material requirements for additional parts necessary for the inspection process. The material and operations are retrieved from the order structure based on the work scope. You can create one or more disposition lines for the disposition shop order, identify the reserved material to be associated with the disposition line, and associate a disposition code with the material. Then, for each disposition line, you can record the identified deficiencies and modifications needed.
The component repair order line status changes to Released.
