Connect Resources to Execution Item

Explanation

This activity is used to plan the usage of resources when performing any kind of work.

Prerequisites

• Resource Groups with resource types of Person Group and Tool/Equipment Group are defined with Use in Maintenance allowed in Resource/Resource Groups.
• If the resources are to be connected to a task template, the task template must be defined on the Compatible Unit Navigator/Jobs and Templates tab prior to defining the resources for the execution item.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a resource line will be connected to the execution item.

Procedure

Create Person Resource line

1. Open the Compatible Unit Navigator window.
2. Search for an exiting record.
3. Select the appropriate execution item template in the navigator.
4. Click the Work Lists/Resources tab.
5. Select an existing work list line and enter a new record in Resources tab with value of Demand Type as Person.
6. Enter information is Resource Group, Resource, Planned Quantity and Planned Hours. Use List of Values to select a suitable value for resource group and resource.
7. Enter other values as required.
8. Save the information.

Create Tool/Equipment Resource line

1. Open the Compatible Unit Template Navigator window.
2. Search for an exiting record.
3. Select the appropriate execution item template in the navigator.
4. Click the Work Lists/Resources tab.
5. Select an existing work list line and enter a new record in Resources tab with value of Demand Type as Tool/Equipment.
6. Enter information is Resource Group, Resource, Planned Quantity and Planned Hours. Use List of Values to select a suitable value for resource group and resource.
7. Enter other values as required.
8. Save the information.
