Verify Maintenance Event Sign Off
Explanation
This activity is used to verify the sign off for a maintenance event. In addition to an inspector sign off, there can be requirements for a
counter inspector sign off for the event. This serves as a second and confirming
signature for an event already signed off by an inspector. The following rules
apply when signing off an event:
- If sign off requirements with both Inspector
and Counter Inspector requirement types are defined on the event, two
different persons are required to sign off the event.
- If a certificate has been defined for the
counter inspector sign off requirements on the event, the person signing off
the event must have the necessary qualifications to perform the sign off.
Note: If a certificate is not used for the counter inspector
sign off requirements when signing off, the identity of the person
performing the sign off is retained but validations will not be performed.
- When signing off an event where more than one signature requirement has been defined for the same requirement type, only
one signature can be specified and the person signing off must have all
certificates required.
Prerequisites
To perform this activity, events with counter inspector sign off
requirements must exist on the maintenance order. These events must be in the
Work Done status.
System Effects
- The event is signed off.
- The ID of the person who performed the sign off and the date of signing
off is entered automatically on the sign off requirement.
- If all sign off requirements have been performed on the event, the
Sign Off Performed check box is selected on the event record.
- Counter inspector sign off information on the event will be retained in
history.
