This activity is used to define a default project and/or activity for the logged on user.
Assume you (the logged on user) will be working on a specific project for a certain period of time. You can select the project ID as your default project. You can also assign an activity belonging to the selected project as your default activity. Defining a default project and an activity will enable the automatic connection between IFS/Asset Design and IFS/Project. The default project information will appear automatically on the new design object(s) you create and is consequently updated on the project activity. It will also be possible to select a default project without specifying an activity. The project ID will appear automatically on the new design object(s). However, the connection between the object and the project is not complete, and the planned values and progress cannot be reported on the entered project.
An activity sequence number will be used instead of the activity ID when assigning the default project activity. The reason is that several activities can have the same activity ID in different sub projects. As a result a default activity for the logged on user cannot be set by the system. The activity sequence number is always unique and is therefore used to set the user's default project activity.
A user property is created in the foundation properties located in IFS/Administration.
