Design Part, Advanced

An advanced design part is one that has undergone important changes and contains more information that it did previously. The activities performed to bring it to this stage, in the preferred order, are:

  1. Handle Design Part Version - This activity is used to determine if a design part should get a new version or be recreated as a new design part. This activity can be skipped if there is no requirement to make changes to a design part.
  2. Define Additional Information on Design Part - This activity is used to define additional information, such as manufacturer, supplier, part no, type designation and dimension/quality, among others, on a design part.
  3. Define Values on Technical Attributes - This activity is used to define values for the technical attributes of a design part. These technical attributes may include temperature, pressure, and flow rate, among others for an object such as a check valve. These attributes and values often help with cost estimations for purchasing and installation.
  4. Handle Status on Design Part - This activity is used the change the status of a design part.
