Enter Wage Class

Explanation

This activity is used to enter wage classes. A wage class is used to distribute wage code dependent information in case you have more than one payroll system that integrates to the Schedules and Rules component. Enter one wage class for each payroll system. At least one wage class must be entered.

Basic data concerning wage codes, working hours schedules, increments, rules etc., are dependent on the wage class. The window title bar displays the wage class within which you are currently working. When logging into IFS Applications, you will be set up to work in your own wage class by default, i.e., the wage class connected to you in the Employee Schedules and Rules window.

In the Change Wage Class dialog box, you can select the wage class with which you want to work. This implies that you have several wage classes defined. You can open this dialog box from one of the right mouse button options, as well as from the Navigator. You can have several basic data windows, for different wage classes, open at the same time and switch between them.   Remember to check the title bar to verify that you are in the right wage class.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, you will be able to enter wage codes. Selecting the Long Wage Code check box in the Wage Class window lets you enter wage codes with up to 10 characters. If you do not select the check box, the wage code field will only allow a maximum of four characters.
